Wilma Journal

Anyone that writes in their bio that they are 'a sucker for a strong drink and a rambling story' are friends of ours at Caro! Eden Keane is not only the smartest person I know but she is funny and has an enviable sexy Irish accent. Leaving the city for the Hampshire Hills, Eden is a fellow country bumpkin but also the creator of Wilma, an editorial journal on Place and Craft.

Where do you live?

City during the week, country on the weekend. A serene little house that's part of a converted old manor building we share with the neighbours.

Where’s your dream escape destination?

Surfing in Co.Clare followed by mussels and chips on the beach. It's not the most exotic destination but it's close to my parents' house and always feels like coming home.

What’s your vice?

One more tune, drink etc. I’m easily led.

Whats the most memorable advice you’ve received?

It’s a rip off of the Anthony Burill mantra, but various iterations of “work hard and don’t be a dick to people” has served me well.

Who’s your muse?

My friends. In their various ways, they inspire me in the way they go for what they want, have carved out original voices in their industries and really embody the ‘head down thumbs up’ mentality that I love.

What’s on your coffee table at the moment?

Back issues of The Gentlewoman and RA magazines, old weekend newspapers I need to recycle and an amazing new book, Collins Botanical Bible - an exhaustive exploration of wild plants and botanical uses that I’m researching for work.

What’s your favourite dish to eat?

Crab linguine all day, every day.

What are you most curious about?

Adopting a more sustainable life and trying to instil a sense of responsible design and sustainability focus in the brands I work with. It’s a constant negotiation and like everyone, I’m still finding my way.

What keeps you up at night?

The usual stuff: the mess of Brexit, impending environmental disaster, whether I’ll hit snooze or go swimming in the morning.
