Bring on May! Not only will the sun definitely be out by then but we will have the new, compellingly curated London Craft Week to attend. From May 6-10 locations around London will be opening their doors to celebrate the recognised and influential makers to the more quietly skilled specialists. It is warming to see Craft sitting alongside the respected Fashion, Art and Design industries, isn't it!? The wider public can now witness the skills and techniques behind a craft and engage with the connoisseurs that bring us such marvelled artistry. Take a look at the journey-of-discovery programme to see which of the hidden workshops, demonstrations and exhibitions you like the look of.
Milan 2015 exhibition Norwegian Presence, hosted by Klubben, Norwegian Crafts and Norwegian Icons, was one i wish i could have seen in the flesh. Showcasing 46 Norwegian designers, the objects exhibited Nordic product between 1940 and 1975. Below are a selection of my faves - clockwise: Flip it by Marte Frøystad, Tuthanka by Margit Seland, Flaske by Andreas Engesvik, Mikkel blanket by Kristine Five Melver and Unit by Silje Nesdal.
