THIS WAY Brighton to Lewes map
Our Brighton to Lewes map starts at the Palace Pier in Brighton, the south-east’s independent and creative capital. Brighton sits on the brink of land and sea and is embraced on all sides by the South Downs National Park. Our path ends in Lewes, a small Sussex town rich in history and tradition.
Route One leads you out of Brighton through a cemetery, you walk behind a sprawling suburbia before picking up the ridge that is the South Downs Way. After a few miles of rolling quintessential countryside the path drops down into a small Sussex village, past a windmill and into Lewes.
Route Two runs out of Brighton west along the seafront and along the undercliff, where a lane can be found which draws you up into a beautiful, secluded valley. Once more the South Downs are scaled before following the waterways into Lewes.
